Small Eagle Platter

Chinese export for the west was often a riot of color and fantastic animal images. This Eagle platter is an adaptation of one that existed 1750-60 with an early depiction of the colonial American eagle.The shape of the platter is curvacious with lattice border in matte burnished gold and with accent flowers.
