Named for the 19th century illustrator, sculptor and ceramicist, Bordallo Pinheiro continues the iconoclast’s legacy of unique art by applying ancestral manufacturing techniques and naturalistic motifs—inspired by Portugal’s flora and fauna—to versatile and decorative tabletop pieces. The simple, beautiful, rustic cabbage can be seen as a metaphor for Portugal, which is what drew Bordallo to it.
